Devices
See every computer that runs NotBot on your account, whether each one is sending its shows to NotBot Data, and how to turn Data on for a computer.
Devices lists every computer that runs NotBot on your account and whether it is sending its shows to NotBot Data. A show recorded on a computer that is not sending data is missing from every Data page, so check here first when a show or a buyer is not where you expect it.
To open it, click Devices in the sidebar under Account. The Turn it on link in the box of computers near the top of a Data page opens it too.
The pictures on this page come from a sample account.
Your computers
Section titled “Your computers”The line under Devices says how many computers you have and how many are sending data, for example “3 computers · 2 sending data”. A computer shows up here after you open NotBot 1.4 or later on it and sign in, even before it sends any shows.
Each computer has a line with:
- Its name, and under it its system and NotBot version, for example “macOS · NotBot 1.4.4”. Not reported yet means the computer has not sent them yet.
- Where it stands, in one of the states below, with a sentence on what to do.
- Last seen: when NotBot on that computer last checked in with your account. Never if it has not yet.
- Last data: when it last sent show data. None yet if it never has.
- Shows: how many of its shows are saved to your account. Archived shows are not counted.
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| Sending its shows | New shows from this computer are saved to your account. To stop, turn off Include data from this computer in NotBot on that computer. |
| Not sending data | Nothing from this computer is saved. To start, turn on Include data from this computer in NotBot on that computer. |
| Not sending data, with “This computer runs an older NotBot” | The computer runs a NotBot older than 1.4, which cannot send data. Update it to 1.4 or later, then turn on Include data from this computer. |
| Removed | The computer was removed from your account. Its saved shows are kept, but it cannot send new ones. |
Sending is switched on and off on each computer, in NotBot, not on this page.
When a computer needs attention
Section titled “When a computer needs attention”Under a computer’s state, a line can say something went wrong while it was sending:
| Line | What to do |
|---|---|
| “It tried to send a show while sharing was off.” | Turn on Include data from this computer in NotBot on that computer if you want its shows saved. |
| “Sharing was turned off and on again while it was sending.” | Nothing. It picks up from its next show. |
| “It got out of step while sending and is retrying.” | Wait for your next show. If the line is still there after it, close and reopen NotBot on that computer. |
Turn on Data for a computer
Section titled “Turn on Data for a computer”The section at the bottom of the page lists the steps. When any computer is not sending data, the line above them says how many, for example “1 computer is not sending data. Do this on each one.” Your show history stays on the computer either way; turning it on copies it to your account.
Step 1: Open NotBot on the computer you sell from
Section titled “Step 1: Open NotBot on the computer you sell from”It needs NotBot 1.4 or later. If the computer runs an older version, update it first. See Update NotBot and see what’s new.
Step 2: Turn on Include data from this computer
Section titled “Step 2: Turn on Include data from this computer”In NotBot, click Customize, then Advanced Settings › Sync & devices, and turn on Include data from this computer.
Step 3: Choose your past shows
Section titled “Step 3: Choose your past shows”Upload your older shows now, or start with your next show. Older shows bring their sales and buyers, without the viewer, bid and chat timeline.
Step 4: Do the same on every computer you sell from
Section titled “Step 4: Do the same on every computer you sell from”Each computer sends only its own shows. A show you ran on a computer that is not sending data does not reach NotBot Data from any other computer.
The click-by-click version, with pictures of NotBot, is in Save your shows to your account and back up.
If something looks different
Section titled “If something looks different”A computer I sell from is not listed
Open NotBot on it and sign in with the same account. It appears here after that. A computer that has only ever run a NotBot older than 1.4 does not show here, so update it first.
The same computer is listed twice
Uninstalling and reinstalling NotBot keeps the same line. A second line appears only when NotBot’s settings folder on that computer was deleted or renamed, for example when our support team asked you to reset NotBot: NotBot then joins your account as a new computer. Last seen tells you which line is the one in use now. Shows saved under the old line stay in your account.
I want to stop a computer I no longer use
This page has no button to remove a computer. To make sure it sends nothing more, turn off Include data from this computer in NotBot on that computer.
Last seen is recent but Last data says “None yet”
NotBot on that computer is signed in but has sent no show data. If its state is Not sending data, turn on Include data from this computer on it. If it says Sending its shows, it has not recorded a show since you turned it on.
A show I ran is missing from NotBot Data
Check which computer recorded it. If that computer says Not sending data, turn it on and choose to upload your past shows. See Send your shows to Data for how soon a show appears.
