Join a team as a helper or consigner

This guide is for the people a seller pays. When a seller invites you to their Pay team, you can sign in and see your own part of it: as a helper, what you earned each week; as a consigner, what each of your shows earned and what you are owed. You never see anyone else’s pay.

Before you start

• The invite email from the seller. The link in it works for 7 days.
• You do not need a paid plan to join a team.

Join from your invite

Step 1: Open the link in the invite email

Click the link in the invite email. The page says which team invited you, who sent the invite, and what you will see.

If you are not signed in, click Sign in to join. You can sign in with any account; it does not have to be the address the invite went to. If you do not have an account yet, you can create one on the sign-in page.

Step 2: Click Join

Once you are signed in, the page shows the account you are signed in with and a Join button with the team’s name. Click it. Pay opens your page on the team.

If the page says Confirm your email to join, open the link in the email we sent when you made your account, then click I’ve confirmed it, join now. Send the email again sends that email a second time.

If you are a helper

Step 3: Read Your pay

Your pay shows your total for the week and whether it is paid:

• Not paid yet
• Paid
• Paid · $X added since: you earned more in that week after you were paid, for example a show was updated
• Paid · adjusted since: your pay for that week went down after you were paid

Below the total is what it is made of: Show cuts, Tips, and Hours and photos, and the shows you ran with your cut and tips. Click Previous at the top to see earlier weeks, or All weeks at the bottom for a list.

Step 4: Log your work

Click Log work on Your pay, or Work in the menu, then click Log work at the top right of the Work page. Fill in the date, the activity and the time (or the number of items), and click Log work. You can only log and see your own work. See Log helpers’ hours and items.

Step 5: See the shows you ran

Click Shows in the menu. It lists the shows you ran, with each show’s Net (Whatnot’s completed earnings), Your cut and Tips. Click a show to open it. If the seller linked it to NotBot, you also see the items that sold.

If you are a consigner

Step 6: Read Your shows

Your shows starts with Owed to you: what the seller owes you now for shows not paid yet. Below it are your shows, Not paid yet first, then Paid with the date each was paid. Each line has the show’s date, how many items sold and your payout. A show with nothing to pay you says No payout.

The amounts come from Whatnot’s completed earnings for each show.

Step 7: Open a show to see how your payout was worked out

Click a show’s name. Your payout shows the sum:

• Net sales (Whatnot): what the show earned
• the seller’s own items in the show, if any, taken off first
• Your share: your split of what is left
• Shipping: added to your payout
• Your payout

A show that lost money pays nothing, shipping included. If the seller linked the show to NotBot, the NotBot box lists each item that sold and its price.

Leave a team

Step 8: Click Leave on Your teams

Click the team’s name at the top of any Pay page, then Your teams. Click Leave next to the team. Pay asks first: click the button with the team’s name, for example Leave Dana’s Coin Shop. You lose access at once. To come back, you need a new invite.

If something looks different

The invite page says This invite link doesn’t work anymore

The link was already used, was cancelled, or is more than 7 days old. Ask the seller to send it again from Pay. Each new invite has a new link.

I joined but see “You’re not set up in Pay yet”

You are on the team but not as a helper or consigner. Ask the seller to add you as a helper.

I signed in with a different email than the invite went to

That is fine. You can join with any account. The seller is told which account joined.
