Admins, handing the team on, and deleting a team
Make someone an admin, hand your team to a new owner, start a second team, and delete or restore a team.
These are the owner’s tools for the team itself. All but the last are on the Advanced page, which only the team’s owner sees. Restoring a deleted team is on Your teams.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You are the owner of the team.
Step 1: Open Advanced
Section titled “Step 1: Open Advanced”Click Team in the Pay menu. At the bottom, under More, click Advanced.
Step 2: Make someone an admin
Section titled “Step 2: Make someone an admin”Admins see the whole team’s pay and can add helpers, invite people and change settings. They cannot make other admins, hand the team on or delete it.
Under Admins, pick the person in Someone on the team and click Make admin. To undo it, click Make a helper again next to their name.
An admin sees the whole team, so making a helper or consigner an admin ends their helper or consigner sign-in. Make a helper again does not bring that sign-in back.
Step 3: Hand the team to someone else
Section titled “Step 3: Hand the team to someone else”To make someone else the owner, pick them in New owner and click Hand the team on, then confirm.
They become the owner and pay for Pay from then on. You stay on the team as an admin. If their plan does not include Pay, the team is paused until it does.
Step 4: Check pending invites
Section titled “Step 4: Check pending invites”Pending invites lists every invite nobody has used yet: who it went to, what they join as, and until when the link works. Cancel invite makes the link stop working.
Step 5: Start another team
Section titled “Step 5: Start another team”For a second business with its own helpers, consigners and pay, type its name in Team name, pick its Time zone and click Start team. You own it and pay for it. Switch between your teams with the team name at the top of any Pay page.
Step 6: Delete the team
Section titled “Step 6: Delete the team”At the bottom, Delete this team removes the team for everyone. Type the team’s name in the box, click Delete team and confirm.
Everyone loses access at once and pending invites are cancelled. For 30 days you can bring the team back. After that it is gone for good, and you get a copy of its pay data by email.
Step 7: Restore a deleted team
Section titled “Step 7: Restore a deleted team”Click the team name at the top of any Pay page, then Your teams (or go to app.mellowtools.com/pay/teams). A team you deleted in the last 30 days is under Recently deleted, with the date it can be restored until. Click Restore.
Everything comes back as it was. People who were on the team have their access back; invites cancelled by the delete need to be sent again.
If something looks different
Section titled “If something looks different”Pay says it is paused
When the owner’s subscription ends, the team is paused: everyone can still see everything, but nothing can be added or changed. The data is safe. It starts working again when the owner renews. Removing people and cancelling invites still work while it is paused.
I cannot leave my own team
The owner cannot leave. Hand the team to someone else first (step 3), then leave it from Your teams.
