Send your shows to Data
Turn on sending in NotBot on each computer you sell from, see when a show arrives, and read what each Data status means.
NotBot Data has only the shows your computers send to your account. Nothing is sent until you turn it on, and each computer you sell from sends its own shows, so you turn it on once on every one of them.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- NotBot 1.4 or later on each computer you sell from. Older versions cannot send shows to Data.
- NotBot signed in with the same account you use for Data.
How a show gets to Data
Section titled “How a show gets to Data”On each computer, in NotBot, go to Customize › Advanced Settings › Sync & devices and turn on Include data from this computer in the Save show data to my account card. Every click is in Save your shows to your account and back up.
- What it sends: sales and purchases, giveaways, buyer names and numbers, chat messages, viewer and reaction counts, bids and auction runs, payment failures, printed labels, and the win photos NotBot captures. Printing works the same with sending on or off.
- From now on: shows you run after turning it on are sent while they run. If a show is running when you turn it on, that show is sent from its start.
- Past shows: earlier shows stay on the computer until you upload them under Past shows on the same page. An uploaded older show brings its sales and buyers, without the viewer, bid and chat timeline, and shows as Uploaded later in Data.
- Every computer: each computer sends only the shows it recorded. A show recorded on a computer that is not sending is missing from Data.
- Ask before saving: with Ask before saving each show to my account turned on (in Your shops on the same page), only shows from your shops are sent without asking. Any other show waits until you save it from the cloud icon in the live view or from Show History.
Your show history stays on the computer either way. Sending copies it to your account.
The page you see before your first show arrives
Section titled “The page you see before your first show arrives”Until a first show reaches your account, Shows, Month, Items and Trends show Your shows aren’t here yet in their place. The page lists the same four steps:
- Open NotBot on the computer you sell from (version 1.4 or later).
- Go to Advanced Settings › Sync & devices and turn on Include data from this computer.
- Choose your past shows: upload older shows now, or start with your next one.
- Do the same on every computer you sell from.
Beside them, Your computers lists each computer that has signed in to NotBot with your account: its name, its NotBot version and sending data, not sending data, or update to 1.4 first, with On or Off. A computer appears there after you open NotBot on it and sign in.
The page checks again every 30 seconds and changes to your shows on its own once the first one arrives.
How soon a show appears
Section titled “How soon a show appears”A show from a computer that is sending appears in Data while it is still running, with the status Receiving. Pages with a live show on them refresh every 30 seconds. While Data works out a show’s numbers, its row says Calculating… and its figures are left out of totals until they are ready.
What each Data status means
Section titled “What each Data status means”Every show in the Data column of Shows and Month, and in the line under a show’s title, has one status. The first one in this list that fits is the one you see.
| Status | What the screen says | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Receiving | Updating every 30 seconds while the show runs | The show is live: it has no end yet and new data arrived in the last 15 minutes. |
| No end recorded | NotBot stopped hearing from this show before it ended; counts may be short | The show never got an end and nothing has arrived for 15 minutes or more, for example because NotBot was closed or the computer lost its connection. |
| Uploaded later | An older show uploaded from history: sales and buyers only, no viewers, bids or chat | You uploaded it under Past shows after it happened. |
| Older capture | Recorded by an older NotBot that did not save every kind of data | The show was recorded and checked by a NotBot from before every kind of data was saved. |
| Partial | NotBot started capturing at (time), after the show began | NotBot joined the show after the platform started it. Anything before that time is missing. |
| Complete | Everything this computer saw is here | NotBot finished the show and confirmed that everything it recorded reached your account. |
| Ended, no final check | The show stopped sending before NotBot confirmed it; counts may be short | The show ended, but NotBot did not finish its last check that everything arrived. |
A show’s own page explains more in About this data: when capture started, how the show ended, the final check, sale photos and which other computers recorded it. See A show’s page.
If something looks different
Section titled “If something looks different”A show I ran is not in Data
Check the panel under the page title. If the computer that recorded the show says is not sending data, turn on Include data from this computer on it. A show recorded before you turned it on is still on that computer: upload it under Past shows. With Ask before saving each show to my account on, a show from a shop that is not one of yours waits until you save it in NotBot.
A computer says update to 1.4 first
That computer runs a NotBot older than 1.4, which cannot send shows. Update NotBot on it, then turn on Include data from this computer.
A show has no viewers, bids or chat
It was uploaded later from history, or recorded by an older NotBot. Its sales and buyers are there; the rest was never recorded.
The same show is listed twice
Two computers recorded it. Each recording has its own row, and every total counts the show once.
