Pay your helpers and consigners each week

Check the week, mark each helper's pay and each consigner's payout paid, and settle pay that changed after you paid it.

Last updated Oct 12, 2026 · Applies to MellowTools Pay

Once a week, open This week to see what each helper earned and what each consigner is owed. Pay them the way you usually do (cash, bank transfer, a payment app), then mark them paid in Pay. Marking paid only records it: Pay does not send money.

Click This week in the Pay menu. The title says which week you are on, Monday to Sunday in your team’s time zone.

Click Previous to go back a week and Next to go forward. This week brings you back to the current week.

When something in the week needs your attention, a Needs a look box says what happened, with a link to fix it:

  • a show that lost money
  • a helper’s week that changed after you marked it paid, with the amount to settle
  • a show sent from Whatnot without a time zone, so Pay assumed your team’s time zone for its date
  • a consigner payout that changed after you marked it paid

Week payroll has one line per helper who earned something this week:

  • Hours: hours logged on the Work page
  • Work pay: what their logged hours and items earned
  • Show cuts: their share of the shows they ran
  • Tips: tips from the shows they ran
  • Total: what you owe them for the week
  • Status: Mark paid, or when they were paid

After you have paid a helper, click Mark paid on their line. Pay asks you to check the amount, for example Pay Ava $12.00 for this week? Click the button with the amount to mark it paid, or Cancel.

Their status changes to Paid with the date. If their total changed since you opened the page, Pay says so and marks nothing, so you never mark the wrong amount.

Step 5: Settle pay that changed after you paid it

Section titled “Step 5: Settle pay that changed after you paid it”

If a show or work entry in a paid week changes later, the status shows what was paid, what it is now, and the difference, for example Paid $260.67, now $272.68, $12.01 to settle. When the new total is lower, it says overpaid instead.

Settle the difference with the helper, then click the status to bring the week up to date.

Step 6: Reopen the week, then mark it paid again

Section titled “Step 6: Reopen the week, then mark it paid again”

Pay asks Reopen Ava’s week? Click Reopen week. The week shows as not paid, with the new total.

Click Mark paid again to record the new total as paid. Clicking a Paid status the same way also reopens a week you marked paid by mistake.

Step 7: Click Mark paid in Consigners owed

Section titled “Step 7: Click Mark paid in Consigners owed”

Consigners owed lists every consigner you owe for shows not paid yet, from any week: their split, how many shows, and the total. After you have paid a consigner, click the button under their total (Mark it paid for one show, Mark both paid for two, or Mark all 3 paid and so on for more).

Pay shows how many shows and the total, for example Mark 2 shows paid to Hollow Creek Estate, $1,637.07 total. Click Mark 2 shows paid.

Each of those shows is marked paid with today’s date. If you marked them by mistake, open each show from Shows and click Mark not paid in its Payouts box (step 9).

To pay a consigner for one show, open the show from Shows. At the bottom of its Payouts box, click Mark paid, check the amount and confirm. Mark not paid undoes it.

A show’s consigner payout that is paid keeps its split. If the show changes after it was paid, its page shows the amount to settle.

On This week, click All weeks next to Week payroll. The Payroll page lists the weeks with pay from the last 12 weeks, newest first, with each helper’s work pay, show cuts, tips, total and status. Click Open the week to go to that week. Older weeks lists earlier weeks by year.

A helper is not in the week payroll

The week payroll only lists helpers who ran a show, logged work or were paid that week. Check the show has them as the runner, or that their work is logged on the right date.

You keep is lower than I expected

You keep is the shows’ net minus runner pay and consigner payouts. It does not take off pay for logged hours, and tips are not counted in it.
