Record a show

Send a finished show from Whatnot with the MellowTools extension or add it by hand, pick the runner and consigner, check its payouts, and link it to NotBot.

Last updated Oct 12, 2026 · Applies to MellowTools Pay

Every show you put in Pay counts toward that week’s pay: the runner’s cut and tips, and the consigner’s payout. The quickest way in is from Whatnot: the MellowTools Chrome extension reads a finished show’s earnings, shipping, sales and items sold from Whatnot’s Shipments page and sends them to Pay. You can also add a show by hand.

Owners, admins and helpers can send shows. A helper is always the runner on the shows they send, and only sees their own cut and tips.

Click the MellowTools extension’s icon in Chrome’s toolbar, then click Sign in and sign in with the account you use for Pay.

When you are signed in, the extension lists your teams under Default team. If you are on more than one team, pick the one you send to most often. When your Whatnot dashboard is signed in as a seller account listed in a team’s Settings, the extension picks that team for you. Otherwise it starts on the team you sent your last show to. You can change the team before you send.

Step 2: Open the show on Whatnot’s Shipments page

Section titled “Step 2: Open the show on Whatnot’s Shipments page”

In Whatnot’s seller dashboard, open Shipments and click the finished show, so its details open. The extension adds a Send to MellowTools button at the top of the details. Click it.

If the button says Waiting for completed earnings, Whatnot only has estimated earnings for the show so far. Send it once Whatnot shows completed earnings.

Step 3: Check the show and pick who worked it

Section titled “Step 3: Check the show and pick who worked it”

The MellowTools · Pay window shows what it read from Whatnot: the show’s name and date, Completed earnings, Shipping, Sales and Items sold, and which week the show counts toward.

  1. Sending to is the team. Change it if needed.
  2. Under Who worked it, pick the Runner and the Consigner.
  3. Type the Tips the runner got.
  4. If you sold some of your own items in a consigner’s show, open Items you sold yourself (rare) and add each with its gross and net. This part only shows for a show that is new to Pay.

If the date is wrong, click Wrong date? and pick the right one in Show date. When Whatnot’s page does not show the year, Show date is already open with a note to check it.

Click Send show. The window says Sent to your team (or Updated in when it updated a show), which week it counts toward, and the runner’s cut, the tips, the consigner’s payout and what you keep. Click Done.

Sending the same show again updates it instead of adding a second copy (the button says Update show). If Pay already has a show that looks like this one, the window shows it under Possible match and asks whether it is the same show. Pick Same show, update it (or the matching show, when there is more than one) or A different show before you send.

Click Shows in the Pay menu, then Add show at the top right. (Add show is also on This week.)

Fill in the show’s Name, Date and Start time, then:

  • Net earnings: Whatnot’s completed earnings for the show. It can be negative for a show that lost money.
  • Shipping: the shipping on the show. It is added to the consigner’s payout.
  1. Runner: the helper who ran the show, or No runner.
  2. Tips: what viewers tipped. Tips go to the runner if they get tips.
  3. Runner cut on this show (%): leave it blank to use the runner’s usual share. Type a percent to use a different share on this show only.

Step 8: Pick the consigner, then click Add show

Section titled “Step 8: Pick the consigner, then click Add show”
  1. Consigner: who you sold for, or No consigner. Pay uses their split. To use a different split on this show only, pick Just this show and type it.
  2. Your own items on this show: if some items in a consigner’s show were yours, click Add an item and type its name, what it sold for and its net. They come off the top before the consigner’s split, and the consigner sees them listed.
  3. Tags: tick any that fit.

Click Add show at the bottom. The show’s page opens.

Click Shows in the Pay menu and click a show’s name. The show’s page has two boxes:

  • From Whatnot: the net, shipping, tips, sales and items sold. A show added by hand says Entered by hand, and figures Whatnot did not give say Not captured.
  • Payouts: the runner’s cut (with the percent used), their tips, the consigner’s payout with its split and where that split came from (their split, team default or set on this show), and You keep.

When you share your NotBot data with the team (see Start Pay and set up your team), the owner or an admin can link each show in Pay to the show NotBot recorded.

On the show’s page, the NotBot box says This show isn’t linked to a NotBot show yet. Click Link a NotBot show.

Section titled “Step 11: Pick the matching show and click Link show”

Pay lists the NotBot shows that started within 30 minutes of this one (or, when NotBot has no start time, that NotBot first saw within 30 minutes) under These NotBot shows look like a match, with how many sales NotBot recorded. Other NotBot shows from around that day are listed below them.

Pick the right show and click Link show. If none is right, click None of these to go back to the show without linking it.

Back on the show’s page, the NotBot box lists the items NotBot recorded as sold in the show, newest first, with each price and buyer. Grid shows them as the photos NotBot took and List shows them as a list. Show more at the bottom loads more.

Payouts always use Whatnot’s numbers, so NotBot’s list never changes what anyone is paid. To undo a link, click Unlink.

There is no Send to MellowTools button on Whatnot

The button only shows on Whatnot’s Shipments page, with a show’s details open. Check the extension is installed and switched on in Chrome, then reload the page.

The extension says the show needs the team owner

A helper cannot change a show that is already in Pay under another runner. Ask the team owner to change it in Pay.

A show is in Pay twice

Open the copy you do not want and click Delete show at the bottom of its page. Only the owner and admins can delete shows.
